Awana Children’s Program

Awana Children's Program

What is Awana Video

We are excited to begin our Awana Clubs again this year!  What is Awana you ask?  Awana is a “global, non-profit ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love, and serve Him.”  Awana strives to reach kids, equip leaders and change the world.  This children’s program is for preschool through 6th-grade children.

We meet every Wednesday night from September through May starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m.  We have three groups that meet:

  • The Cubbies which are for preschool age kids.
  • The Sparks group which incorporates Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
  • The T&T group – 3rd through 6th graders.

The Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T Groups begin in the auditorium for a brief opening, the Cubbies then go off to their classroom and end the night downstairs in Fellowship Hall with games.  The Sparks and T&T groups start out with a brief opening, then rotate through game time and handbook time.  We have great leaders that love working with kids!

Kids are able to purchase a shirt and handbook through the year.  Dues are collected each week ($1.25) which helps us cover the cost of the program.  As kids work through their book, they are able to earn badges, jewels, and pins for their shirts.  They also earn points through the year by bringing their Bible, handbook, wearing their Awana shirt and attending.  At the end of the year, we add up these points and the kids are able to spend their points at an Awana “store” that we set up just for them!

Awana is an incredible program that we are thrilled to offer here at the church.  If you would like to attend or give Awana a try, you can register online here: https://duxburychurch.churchcenteronline.com/registrations.  Email the church office at info@duxburychurch.org if you have any more questions.
