As we prepare to relaunch in-person worship services, we are taking a number of precautions to ensure your safety and to meet the state requirements for church gatherings.
Service – We are starting with one Sunday service on July 12 at 9:30 am with limited seating. All Sunday School classes, on campus small groups and nursery care is prohibited at this time. Please continue to take advantage of weekly online programming and resources for children and teens. We are doing everything we can to provide a safe environment but we cannot eliminate risk. Therefore, we echo the CDC recommendations that at-risk and vulnerable individuals stay at home and continue to engage in our online services. Also, please stay at home if you are ill, or if you have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
Registration – We will be seating families/households together with a safe 6-foot distance between neighboring families allowing for up to 160 attendees in the service. Because of the limited seating, we are asking that you register for the service to help fully utilize available seating. The registration for July 12 is available now through the church newsletter. Each Monday, beginning July 13, a registration link will be emailed to you so that you can signup for the upcoming worship gathering.
Arrival – We will be using the main entrance located on the East side of the building. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the service time when the doors will open and seating will begin. As you come into church through the front doors, we will be asking you to verify your registration and to keep social distance from others just as you would in other buildings open to the community. In accordance with state guidelines and out of consideration for others, we request that you remain contact-free, refraining from handshakes and hugs.
Masks – Per the Massachusetts guidelines, we are requiring all staff, volunteers, and attendees to wear face masks when entering and leaving the building and at other times when maintaining social distance is not possible.
Seating – We will be seating you as you arrive, through the lobby, straight into the auditorium and seating front to back in order of arrival (there will be no open seating). We will be keeping 6 feet of social distance by using every other row and having 3 empty spaces between families or individuals. Families should enter the building together to be seated together.
Bulletins – We will be using digital bulletins to avoid the handling of paper.
Offering – We will not be passing the offering baskets. We continue to encourage you to give online, through the mail, or by bringing your offering to Sunday service and using the offering box as you leave. If you have not set up online giving and would like to, please visit duxburychurch.org/giving/
Bathrooms – We will be opening our bathrooms for your convenience; however, we are encouraging minimal use as it is difficult to maintain social distance and avoid touching surfaces. We will be cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms before and after services.
Departure – After the service, we will ask everyone to leave the facility without congregating in the lobbies and hallways (in accordance with state guidelines). Feel free to catch up with old and new friends outside of the church building but please keep the exit path clear for others who are leaving the campus.
Cleaning, Disinfecting and Air Circulation – For everyone’s well-being, we are following the CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting for every area used in the facility. Hand sanitizer will be available at stations near the auditorium entrances During Sunday services, we will use our HVAC system and fans to increase air circulation throughout the auditorium.
